There’s some guides, i read one.. In the end, understanding how synths work is really easy.
Now i just want to learn how to build one (analog).

  2. solnegrolunaroja Says:

It would be nice to hear the Dr. Who theme on it, or a Gary Numan song also :) Very nice!

  3. schmember Says:

I think you can turn its CV out from Oct/V to Hz/V by sending a program change message to it (program 20, i’m not sure …) or something similar, i’m not sure …

    Nick rules! Great review, thanks.

  5. ErikKiliam Says:

Just had to show off that ms-20..

  6. Rbrownsword Says:

I bet you pluged a dc adaptor in, it says AC on the back.

  7. Synthiefrau Says:

I love my dark Energie. In summer comes “dark time”, dark time is in the same design the sequenzer for the dark Energie.

  8. screendrem Says:

Wow. Great demo. If only I had a friend that understood synths like this guy. I want one.

  9. td6d Says:

    Great, thanks for this.

    Great demo, Thanks

  13. Envergure Says:

No kidding, but what’s your point? The Andromeda is a whole different class of instrument and costs five times as much.

    two completely different animals..

  15. silenthunterIV Says:

really nice video, because of it I’ll buy one

  16. silenthunterIV Says:

Who cares? It may be that there’s somewhat better, but this video only shows how the dark energy set works.Maybe you’ll remember that when you write something like that again.Bad Comment

  17. Setherian Says:

    true. ;)

  18. sonicstate Says:

yes, but its at least three times the price possibly more.

  19. Setherian Says:

my alesis andromeda eat this for breakfast..

  20. Llitsor Says:

This looks pretty nice :) It reminds me very much of my old faithful Doepfer MS404 (No longer made unfortunately)
The Dark Energy appears to be a little more flexible though. If I didn’t already have a 404, i’d certainly be interested in one of these!

  21. weaponEX Says:

I clearly have a lot to learn ;)

    Thanks Nick

  22. sonicstate Says:

no not really, its not the size its the quality, as any young lady will tell you… ;-)

  23. weaponEX Says:

    Thank you!
I’m probably exposing myself as being nothing but a uneducated rompler-jockey, but isn’t that really bad? Don’t you compromise a lot of fidelity by only outputing through an 8th inch jack?

  24. sonicstate Says:

The CV outs can be patched into itself for additional control or external modular gear, the audio is out it also on 8th inch jack

  25. sonicstate Says:

Yes if you just output the actual audio signal into the Korgs pitch to CV/gate correct
